Alumni Association of

Edmeston Central School

1.  The Alumni Association of the Edmeston Central School shall have as members, Graduates of the Edmeston Central School.

2. Its Officers shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Historian, all of ho shall be elected at the Annual Association Banquet (the Secretary and Treasurer for three year term).  REVISION:  At the 1955 Alumni Meeting, a motion was made and seconded that the President appoint a nominating committee before the Annual Meeting.

3.  Committees shall be appointed at the discretion of the President.

4.  Graduates of the Edmeston Central School may become members of the Alumni Association by paying annual dues of 50 cents.  REVISION:  At the 1980 Meeting a motion was made and seconded that the annual dues be raised from $1.00 to $2.00.  The motion was passed.

5.  Any Alumnus having been invited and not having responded with payment of dues for a period of three years shall no longer be notified of Alumni meetings.

6.  The Alumni Meeting and Banquet shall be held annually on Wednesday evening of Commencement week at 7:15 o'clock.  REVISION: At the 1956 Alumni Meeting a motion was made that the meeting be held on Saturday night following Commencement.  It was seconded and passed.  REVISION:  At the 1967 Alumni Meeting a motion was made and seconded the meeting be held on Saturday preceding Commencement.

7.  Each member may invite one (1) and only one (1) guest to the Annual Banquet and each guest must be accompanied by an Alumnus.

8.  Others who may attend the banquet by invitation shall be:

 

   a.  Persons taking part in the Program  

   b.  The Principal of the Edmeston Central School and guest or representative of

         the faculty selected by him.  

   c.  The President of the Board of Education and guest or a representative of the

         Board selected by him.

9.  The cost of the contract banquet price to be made at the discretion of the 

officers each year.

10.  The Alumni Prize of $10.00 shall be awarded each year to the senior who has shown the greatest achievement and leadership in the four years of high school.  The Faculty shall make the recommendation to the association.  REVISION:  At the1961 Alumni Meeting a motion was made and seconded that $25.00 should be divided equally between a boy and a girl.  REVISION:  At the 1974 Alumni Meeting the amount of the award was amended to $30.00.  REVISION:  At the 1985 Alumni Meeting the amount of the award was amended to $50.00 .  REVISION:  At the 1999 Alumni Meeting the amount of the award was amended to $100.00.

11.  1982 Alumni Meeting:  Any teacher or Supervising Principal that has been at Edmeston Central School for ten (10) years or more automatically is to be a member of the Alumni Association and sent an invitation.

12.  1995 Alumni Meeting:  The parents of the current graduating class, who are not alumni, will be invited to attend the banquet at their own expense.
